2011 F350 SD lariat 6.7. completely stock. I get my truck back from the Ford dealer tomorrow They fixed a P0401 code EGR low flow.. The truck ran very good and no symptoms. Tail pipe end very clean , but the engine light was on. 50,000 miles on the truck. I tow a 35 foot 5th for 5 months snowbirding. At home I use it a little But no real loads. I don't let it idle for more than about a minute or I shut it off. Even when hooking up my boat I shut it off. Maybe that is not good? The EGR cooler was plugged on the cooler side and had to be replaced. It seems to me this is a little premature. $1400 later and I am back on the road. I kind of don't want this to happen again. I would appreciate any of your thoughts on this.
when have you had your coolant flushed? Did they do that with this repair?
The engine has 1836 hours and 309 idle. Does that includes idling at a red light, etc? does it register when the key is on and engine not even running?
They checked the coolant and it was good. They added a couple of gallons of new stuff doing the job.
My prior truck, a 2011 also had a plugged EGR, and same code at about the same mileage. My 2016 is approaching the same miles my 2011 had on it when it happened. I have yet had any issues in my 2016, nor have I read about it here in those years either. Is it possible that Ford changed the plumbing in the 2015+ model years?

I believe I read that somewhere. The 15's and up they rerouted the coolant through the cooler or something to that effect, if I remember correctly

17% idle that doesn't sound bad to me. I have 24% idle time on my '16, with 36k on the clock, so far so good but I do expect to have the core replaced at some point.
Anytime the engine is running and the vehicle is not moving it's clocked as idling.

Here is the lastest pic I have as a comparison. Yes yours are not too bad
