Hi. I just replaced my ignition switch (in the steering column). Now no lights or power.
I have been starting it with a push-button hooked to the solenoid. (never has started with the key.)
So I thought I would change the in-column ignition switch and the ignition lock while at it since it was loose. Already has a new starter, batteries, solenoid.
Now, what can I do to get power? Tried putting the old one back in and still nothing. TY

I'm guessing you changed the actual switch, not the key cylinder? If so did the small pin in the switch body fit into the steering column's sliding part that moves the switch through its different positions? Is the wiring harness fully seated to the new switch?
Unless you've blown a fuse in the starting circuit or the new switch is defective there can't be too much amiss. Check the fuses and relays in the Battery Junction Box under the hood. Those would be identified and located according to the appropriate owner's manual for your year----it would be under "roadside emergencies" or some similar category in that manual.
TY for responding. Yes, seated in the hole, only place it will fit it seams. Worked prior to changing and I put the old one back in and nothing no juice at all. I will check the fuses and relays whch were fine prior to the change. She has never started with the key until this week, (a one time only key-start) so I thought I would change the switch And the key cylinder. Nothing, no dash lights at all.
