The switch on the lower column would have been my guess.
Have you checked your starter draw? The starter may be dragging and drawing extra current from the ignition. This can be checked with a battery/charging system tester.
Also, the ignition switch has an adjustment. But if the starter is cranking the ignition circuit should be getting juice also.
The switch is held in place by two screws. Loosen them up. I think they are phillips. Then slide the switch a little toward the steering wheel. Then retighten and check. It doesn't take much.
I replaced ignition module and fixed problem. The first thing I did was check voltage at coil with ignition in run position had 8 volts. Then I cranked the motor and no gain in voltage 8 volts. replaced ignition module and cranked motor and started. Still have premature fuel pump problems used 2 threw four runs with motorhome. does not work well for nascar runs.
