Need iOS Bluetooth OBD2 tool recommendation
back story; my F350 intermittently will not start first thing in the day and car displays several errors; Blind Spot System Fault, Pre-Collision Assist not available and Cross Track System fault. I’ve captured it on video several times but that’s not good enough to diagnose per the dealership.
The truck was just at the dealership for 8 days and they were unable to duplicate the no-start and faults so they threw up their hands and gave the truck back to me. They said without catching the errors and seeing the faults they don’t know what to do.
So I am looking for an iPhone app and a comparable adapter so I can capture DTC faults when the issue appears. As an alternative an inexpensive plug in scanner to read DTC codes would work.
Any recommendations?
thanks. I just ordered the OBDLink MX+.
I have the OBDLink MX (Not the Plus) that I’ve used for Forscan on the laptop but it can’t be used for iPhone. . OBDLink products are good products.
I considered an inexpensive plug-in OBD2 stand alone reader but I would be connecting and removing it frequently. My concern is that the truck’s OBD2 port pins may spread and get worn out. Leaving in the MX+ all the time should not tax the ports pins. The only time I would remove it is to use Forscan on the laptop to make changes.

Have you checked that?
That’s why I want to be able to read if any DTCs are reported when the truck doesn’t start and faults are displayed on dash display. Having a video of the truck nit starting and the 3 faults displayed on the dash isn’t good enough to troubleshoot per tech.
The video evidence should work if I have to go Lemon Law, but besides this issue the truck is my perfect truck. I’ve successfully lemon lawed 2 other vehicles so I’m aware how to properly of document the process. If I can capture fault codes when truck doesn’t start that would help.
I hope you’re able to find what you need. Ever since I plugged it in, it’s never been unplugged.
