Since the last update on my 2017 netted me nothing but the "revert to random AM/FM on restart" and no noticeable upgrades I'm all done with Ford's updates. My new 2019's head unit works as it should and I'm not about to let another of the updates screw this one up. Especially since the last issue was widely known and Ford really didn't do much about it.
They did fix the problem. SSM 48112 - 2017 F-Super Duty, 2016-2018 Fiesta - Radio Reverts To An AM or FM Station After Vehicle Shutdown
I just updated my 2017 F350 to the version 3.0 of Sync 3 as well. I was under the impression the new update was suppose to include the Waze app? When the update completed...there was no Waze app? Any ideas guys?

I think you have to have Waze on your phone to use it through the head unit. I haven’t tried it yet, so this is just an uneducated guess.

Is it possible for you to post the update file. I can't seem to get it to download from the owner.ford.com site. I know they require the VIN number to download, but it shouldn't affect the file.

And it was cheaper than buying a whole new truck!
And how long did it take Ford after this was widely known and complained about by thousands? Too long in my opinion. I'm going with "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" this time around. The latest doesn't always turn out to be the greatest.
I trade every 2-3 years anyway. The radio thing was just coincidence.

I think you'll need to get the correct file on whether you have Navigation or not.
The Waze app under Sync's Mobile App (AppLink) section is only available for iPhone.
Well that sucks! Thanks for the info.

I'll see what I can do. Th file itself is over 1G, so I'll see if I can post a link to it.
No, 17-19 trucks will never see Sync 3.4, it's the 2020+ trucks that get this update. Google Sync 3.4 update and there's a bunch of sites with the download links. You just need to put the files on a USB stick and run the eMMC format, then system update. You get all the newest maps as well if you have NAV. Updated maps were badly needed, bunch of streets were missing by our house. Not anymore!

In another thread there is a link for 3.3 and 3.4, but is says that you can only go from 3.2, to 3.3. I think my trucks (2) both have 3.0. The link that I received from Ford last week (free) doesn't say what version the update is. Did you go from 3.0 to 3.4?
Thanks for any help, I'm really confused.
