The only thing crazy mine does now that it didn’t do before is not allow me access to my recent call history. It used to with no issues. I can get access after a call is made or received though. It keeps saying to check my phone to allow sync access to contacts or something like that.
Another thing mine used to do and maybe it’s fixed is my ambient light setting turns off.

1. Just applied 19205 and radio now reverts occasionally to AM or FM just for chuckles.
2. I used the USB thumb drive. Took about 30 minutes.
3. How do you "let the truck download it"?

Thanks!

PSA on this update. I just did it and it trashed my screen. It wont load the screen and allow the touch function. Half the map loads on startup and thats it. Screen was working perfectly before i did this update, never had a problem with it. I have done other updates with no problems. Now ford is going to try and shaft me on a new screen when i take it in next week is what i am betting. I have tried the reset and removing battery cables it still does the same thing. It said the update was complete and even loaded the file to send on my usb. Ford support was zero help. I will have some choice words if they try to make me pay out of pocket for this. I downloaded the update straight from fords site. So proceed with caution.

Since the last update on my 2017 netted me nothing but the "revert to random AM/FM on restart" and no noticeable upgrades I'm all done with Ford's updates. My new 2019's head unit works as it should and I'm not about to let another of the updates screw this one up. Especially since the last issue was widely known and Ford really didn't do much about it.

I had the same exact issue as you when mine updated, 2017 F350. Only half the map would show on the screen, no other buttons show and touch screen was unresponsive. It turns out that the new version doesn't like some of the boot screen or theme changes that I had made in Forscan. I had changed both my boot screen and theme to the Ford GT ones but once I switched them back to the default Ford options everything came back and worked as normal.

Just to verify, I switched it back after I got it fixed and it just showed a blank screen over everything. Once again, after I changed it back to the default ford boot screen and theme everything works fine.

Hope that helps

I have the same problem. Mine did an auto update. Now the nav and screen is basically worthless. completely unresponsive. can count to 30 before buttons work. GPS is out. When I use appleplay everything works, so I know it's not a hardware problem. It's the software. I did use forscan to unlock the nav, but I returned it to stock and still will not respond.

I hate to tell you this but you need to have your APIM replaced.
I had the same problem and yes, Apple CarPlay would work flawlessly but when trying to use the SYNC 3 system, everything was very laggy on the touch screen.
This is a common problem that is known by most if not all Ford dealers.
Is your vehicle still under the factory bumper to bumper warranty?
If so, take your vehicle in so they can confirm and order a new APIM.
No software update caused or will fix the issues you’re having.

I am having the same issue (currently have the GT theme installed). Does anyone know the Forscan value for the stock animation? (I only see the "extra" animations on the spreadsheet).

Should be a 1. That's what mine is and I have original Ford logo splash.

Yessir, you were right. Problem is I have 65,000 miles on the truck. I did some reading and found the APIM was bad! Ordered a new one from 4DTech and works perfect now. Problem is I ordered the map update $150 and the ESN on the new unit is different. I don't know if I should try and load or send back?

I would call 4DTech first.
They should be able to give you some insight.
Also, and I’m not sure if this is possible, perhaps you can send it back for an exchange for one with the new ESN.

I read somewhere that if you want to keep the Ford GT theme do not do the update. Is this true?

Funny story. While I do peruse the forums here. I did not see this thread until after I booked my truck in yesterday for its scheduled lube and oil. I have a 2017 F350 6.2L Lariat Value CCLB which was built late in the model year. So it is still under warranty and asked them to check the update for the Sync 3 system because it would not let me do it. They called late last night to tell me that they could not update either. And they will keep it and look at on Monday in more detail but think it must be the module.

Know of any other Forscan changes that would cause any issues with this update? I've made a ton of them, and don't want to risk ruining anything major.

Thanks!
