The video below is a tutorial on how to use the PID Charting Tool and is in addition to the PID Charting Tool instructions. The PID Charting Tool sticky thread which includes the required documents and written instructions can be found by clicking here.
I am OK with Excel, but clearly BWST is on another level. I became quite proficient with the PID Charting Tool during it's creation and through the many phases of testing.
Although, I felt there was a need for the video to augment the written instructions. In modern times, we sometimes appreciate the ability to watch someone complete a task before we attempt it ourselves. The video might serve as that extra little nudge in the right direction in order to become proficient with the PID Charting Tool.
I thought it also might be a good idea to show just how simple and quick it is to use the PID Charting Tool.
The best part is that the PID Charting Tool is not limited to the 7.3L. If you have another vehicle that has a scan tool that will export a log file in .csv format, you can use the tool for that vehicle as well.
Have fun with it and hopefully it will be around for many years to come, just like the 7.3L!
@EconoRyan , the efforts of the FTE community have inspired and aided people for years. As you work with the PID Charting tool, please know there is a new version available. The new version is easier to use, provides more lines of data, allows for focusing in and broad picture viewing.
BWST really outdid himself when he designed and built these tools for the FTE community to use and learn from.
It is also a sticky thread at the top of this sub-forum as seen in the image below.
Feel free to post your PID Charting tool results in a new thread, this thread or in the sticky thread. We are eager to help you in anyway we are able to and look forward to your results. Not only will they help provide you a glimpse into how your PCM is handling various parameters and how you engine is running, but it will provide a bit more "community knowledge" and can be used as a comparison tool for others seeking advice or assistance.
