Try deleting the TP formula you got from Tugly and use the Power Stroke EOT included with TP.

Plan C is remove TP from the device, reinstall and start fresh.

TP is pretty flaky in my experience and I prefer Forscan, but TP is the shiny one...

OK...Deleted the TP formula I was using and set up the one for Powerstroke that came with TP.

NOW...its working correctly giving me the correct information. What I can't understand is that looking at the PID editor, the PS PID information max value is 300 which I can change to 250 but the unit type is C?
I thought it needed to be F*

Here is what I have from past threads on EOT PID:

Engine Oil Temperature

Short Name: EOT

PID: 221310

Units: °F

Max/Min: 250.0/0.0

Equation: (((A*256)+B)/100)-40

I run about 180-190 in winter and 190-210 in summer (empty). For those still equipped

with EPBVs, it can activate up to about 145-150 degrees F - it is best go easy on the throttle

(on all 7.3Ls) until you get your EOT above that point. You may hear the injectors act "a

little odd" as the EOT passes through 100 degrees F. For those wanting the Engine Coolant

Temperature (ECT), get a separate gauge or handheld infrared/laser thermometer. You will

not find it on the OBDII port.

Oops.... This is exactly why I make no claim to having it perfected. When we program the individual PID, we tell it what scale the results are in. The formula is to make the results in degrees C, so we have to use that. The other settings in torque translate it to degrees F automatically. I can't fix the old posts, but I my latest stuff has downloads with the correct configuration - plus I guess I'm about due to make a 2020 Torque Pro PID list.

My profound apologies to you for the cause of consternation.

Tugly, no apologies necessary. If anything, I am to blame of not understanding more about PID’s and how they work.
As always, thank you for your contribution to this forum......

@Tugly as a quick fix action before the 2020 Torque Pro PID list comes out, I can help you correct the old post.

Let me know...

Many people would benefit from that correction. I would also appreciate it - to prevent a guilt complex that leaves me in bed all day, playing Angry Birds on my phone and eating bon-bons.

OK... now I can say I have no idea what @MiamiPSD was talking about After going back to the old posts - they all look fine to me. Of course... that's because @Sous enabled me to fix the formula. Thanks for bringing that to my attention George.

I have read everywhere that this is too cold and I should be somewhere around 180*. What going on that I can’t see higher eot temps? For the record, my trans temp was only 148* during my ride over to Naples.
It should run somewhere between 195-205 F at sustained highway speeds with no trailer but ambient temperature extremes could get it to run a little less or more than that. And it will run less than that in stop and go driving. Also will depend somewhat on which T-stat you have. The stock one opens at 195F. I have a 203F from Dieselsite and Mishimoto makes a 205F. I have heard anything over 230F oil temps is no-buenoville. Obviously which oil you use is a factor. Higher end synthetic oils are more tolerant of higher temps

Whoa wait, what? Do tell! I wonder if my Edge would show this PID? That would be great.

This makes me wonder about mine. It is not near that low, so it has me confused. Can’t be Celsius. In 30° weather today I ran 30 miles at 70 mph on the interstate and I was still at only 155°F.. came from inside insulated garage Ar 60F at startup. Measured on cts2. Could I have a bad thermostat or something? I would think that would be enough to get it up to operating temperature. Runs smooth as can be.
I may need to hook my Bluetooth up and do a comparison with Forscan ...course I had it but didn’t think of it till now.
