Hey guys. I dropped the stock pipe and installed the turbo back MBRP 4 inch kit. Cat and muffler gone. It gets crazy loud around 2500 rpm. I LOVE the turbo whistle and would hate to lose it but I need to get rid of the loud rapping under acceleration. Apparently I also need some back pressure to assist in spooling up a little quicker.
So, what 4 inch muffler are y'all runnin' n how do you like it?
Adding back pressure after the turbo is only going to have the opposite effect.
There are actually some owners who need a little back pressure to help spool up a little quicker, this is why some guys leave the stock smaller down pipe on.
It depends some on tuning, etc but not that uncommon to need a little.
I went with the MBRP 3.5" down to the kat and 4"from there with a resonator between the rear axle and exiting just past the tire.
Sounds nice and does not make nasty noise in the cab on heavy acceleration.
