Sync 3 Map updates
Don't know if anyone has seen this. Here is a lengthy thread on Sync 3 Maps update over on F150 Forum. https://t.ly/dwJML
It updates the maps to version 1.18 NA (latest version)
It is a free (download) for 18-19 vehicles. Everyone else is $109 (download) $150 USB.
The updates have not been issue free. Several people have reported systems looping and updates taking well over 2 hours.
I have helped a couple guys with install packages.

I did successfully update the wife's 18 F150.
You will need the VIN and Sync ESN (Not the modem ESN) it will be at the very bottom of the about sync screen (maybe on next page)
Hit me up with any questions or help making it work.

I’m not sure if this means anything but when I click on the Map Update link from my iPad, I immediately get a warning message that says this website might be impersonating sync navigation to steal personal info and it directed me to go back.

You should check out Sygic.
They’ll let you try the full version for a couple of weeks for free and if you want to purchase it, they’re offering a huge discount and all map updates are free.
It’s very cool and I’ve been trying it for over a week now.
The offline version is okay but it’s not on the same level as the full version.

Glad I opted for a non nav truck when I traded my '17 navigation equipped truck last week. I can update Garmin for nothing. An outdated Garmin is probably still better than an updated Ford nav unit.
And after the last SYNC update fiasco where the head unit started up wherever it felt like after the update I'm not too confident in Ford's (or their vendor's) software updating capability.

I think Waze is a little better but not by much.
The crowd support of Waze is what really makes it stand out.
I do have to say that compared to the price of what Ford/SYNC charges for out of date maps,Sygic is a better buy.
Right now they’re offering all of North America for $49.00 or every country for $54.00.
According to the notes they keep sending me, this offer expires on the 23rd and then the price goes back up to over a hundred dollars each.
I might just pull the trigger.

Kind of makes me wonder if it’s real website recognized by Ford/ SYNC.
Oh well, I didn’t give any of my info when it was secure a couple of days ago and I hope those who did use it don’t run into any problems.
