Got a problem that I hope someone else has had and can help.
Have a Dana 60 out of a 95 F350 with milemarker locking-hubs that are less than a year old. I am in the middle of replacing spindles, bearings, and seals in the hub.
My new Yukon spindles have a bevel at the end that my stock spindles did not have. Because of the bevel, I'm having difficulty reinstalling the milemarker hubs. There is a piece that will not go past the bevel to thread on to the spindle.
Is this just an incompatibility problem or is there possibly a defect.
If those are what appears to be the rear nuts then keep in mind the rear sterling has both left and right handed nuts so maybe that is your problem. I like that style and use them on lots of different axles. I have 2 right handed ones on my Dana 80 now
Sorry for taking so long to reply. That part did come off the front axle of my truck, but I went ahead and bought the correct spindle nuts for the front and everything went back together correctly.
The previous owner of my truck did some interesting things, I find something new every time I work on it.
Wow, yeah. I was sitting here going "those are rear spindle lockers...."
I can see the thought behind it, but the way the front loads vs the rear, that would just wreck bearings as the rear spindle nuts have a bit of play and not dealing with the same forces as the front.
