The thing Summit may have been referring to is that some FE engines in cars used heads that had a different bolt pattern for the exhaust ports and exhaust manifolds. Instead of having the bolts over and under the ports, like in the trucks, some of the FE car heads had the bolts positioned differently and IIRC may even have had three bolts on some ports. So, that may be why they're saying the 390 heads wouldn't work.
The Edelbrock heads for 360/390 are different from stock. They are closer to a medium riser 427 design. Of course the 427 and 428 are also FE engines (different bores though). I've seen aluminum heads that have been painted the same color as the block so only the most astute observer will know it's not stock.
Beware the slippery slope of performance seeking. One thing leads to another.
Yes, that is for the pair. Looks like a 4 week turn around, providing there is no additional work needed.
I bought a pair of NOS rebuilt heads from Ebay for my recent 360 build. They were 600.00 delivered, all I did was install new valve stem seals as the heads were on the shelf for a while and the new silicone spring loaded seals are much better than the old rubber umbrella seals. Here is a set, and I have no affiliation with the listing.
just decode your body tag on your door,. H is 390 motor. if its not H then its probly the 360. or what is the bore x stroke of the motor? this is easy stuff,.. can figure it out in less than 2 minutes.
