Is this possible? Right now I have a 360 in my truck and one day I hope to build it to a 390. When I was thinking about this, I was toying with the idea of building it to a 390 with 427 heads. I think its possible because it's in the same FE engine family, therefore having the same engine block? I know the heads for a 427 are very expensive but they may be worth it performance wise, if it's possible to do this. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks guys.
Go to the FE forums and read up. You need not search out expensive "427 heads" for your 360. D2-- heads found on many 360s are fine, and can be ported and cleaned up to support a 390 or 410 or even a 445 just fine.
You can find many threads on "fixing" the 360, one way or the other, in that forum as well.
