Hey all. I’m new to this site and I had a radiator question. I got my grandpas 1973 F250 360 and I need to know if you all have suggestions for where I should buy a radiator. I’m not a car guy so my buddy is helping me with everything. We pulled the radiator and took it to a shop to see if they can fix it. They called me back saying they couldn’t and when I went back to pick it up they said they got rid of it, so now I don’t know what size the original was. Any help would be appreciated.

There are aluminum options I hear are good but I prefer original, more pricey but its what I like ,https://www.radiator.com/# this is what I recommend, but not cheap but its original copper brass, others like aluminum, but I do not
THEY GOT RID OF YOUR RADIATOR. WRONG. Go back and ask for your radiator back. If they say again they got rid of it, call the cops. It wasn't their property. That is absolute BS.
I'd be screaming bloody murder.

Right? I'd be pretty pissed. They'd either be getting it back or replacing it for free. Unless you told them to junk it if it was bad. Short of those exact words coming out of your mouth I'd be throwing a fit.
Also chances are a better shop Could've re-cored it .

And they had better have that in writing with your signature.
If possible, take along an off duty cop or witnesses.
Welcome to FTE. X2 on THEY should NOT of just tossed your radiator out, unless you told them to, or signed a piece of paper allowing them to. Not sure how things roll in California though. Some one (them) would be buying me a new radiator. You know they scrapped it for the $$$. So you are out twice.

hmm wow what kinda shop "throws" away a radiator of a customer's,, even if it was not repairable? they made money off it recycling it i guarantee it. id be making them buy me a new radiator. or find me a nice good one at leaast. wow.. i could never imagine our rad shop over here doign such a thing. although they did eff me on my chevy truck radiator in my '75 when i took it in to them to have it boiled cleaned out, they never did anything and tried ot charg em for doing nothing at all. places are getting really shady and scammy these days more and more. they didnt used to be like this. no more business from me again. ill just buy new or good used in the future, and the F350 radiator im gonna CLR clean it out myself and boil a large tank/pan/barrel of water with a woodfire under it to boil soak it in.
Meth head tweakers. Probably get .50c a pound for brass. What does a radiator weigh? I dunno, but enough to buy more drugs. Did you leave it there for 6 months or something? It is worth money as a core or can be recored. You need to get that back.
I talked to a radiator shop last week about getting the radiator repaired in my slick. I thought it just needed brazing around the neck. They said it was worse than that, no bueno. Anyway I noticed he has a tall fence around the place. I joked about tweakers stealing radiators, he said he caught a couple people red handed, and they had a baby in the car with them.
I had a new Fleabay Champion aluminum radiator on hand to replace it. Bolts right up, seems to work fine. $225 delivered. Versus $800 for a good brass one. Don't use the Champion supplied 16 pound radiator cap with the aluminum radiators in these old beasts though. Find out what your truck used. In my case it's a 7 lb pressure cap. For thermostats, radiator caps, use quality Motorcraft parts. Keep the same pressure and temperature rating as from the factory. Don't try to out engineer the engineers that designed and built it.
