Brake fluid flush
Also I forgot to say if you have some small hemostats you can release the screen so your not having to fight with
it when sucking out the old fluid in the reservoir. There are three places that have a bit of space behind the screen
where you can sticl the tip of a hemostat into and grasp the screen in two places and gently pull it out. Once the
screen is out place it on something clean so when you put it back you don't get any dirt in the fluid. With it out
you can then take a small plastic tube and place it on the suction fitting of the vacuum bleeder and pull all that nasty
dirty fluid out of the bottom of the reservoir. Then slowly pour in the new fluid so it does not mix things up too much.
If you put in a little bit and do a short bleed and then fill you will get the least mixing of new with old. Also having the
screen out makes it less of a hassel when your putting a lot of fluid back in. That reservoir holds about a quart by
itself and you will need about one or two more to fill the system not counting if you also pushed the caliper pistons back in
of if you have new ones and need to fill them. That is why I make sure I have four quart bottles on hand when doing this job.
I use a similar method doing mine. A little more fluid is cheap compared to new cylinders or discovering a soft pedal before you get to the bottom of the mountain 🙀
