The only ones I can think of off my hand you could potentially swap with the right adapter and have it last would be nv4500/5600 zf5/6 and way back when Clark made some medium duty trans with an overdrive but they were rare as hell. Maybe Spicer even did back then. Most were overdriveless

Oh okay. I just saw something about the t5 and was curious if anyone had. A little more research showed they were mostly in ford gm and Dodge cars. I had also looked at maybe a fuller 10 speed but it maybe be better to just swap my c6 for a t19 and and a gear vendor kit. Nothing against the c6 just prefer standard shift over auto
My '92 has the original S5-42 transmission, it's a really slick setup with just the right gear ratios and all 6 gears are synchromesh. They're a little spendy to get used, once you factor in the clutch, pedal, steering column, crossmember, and driveline parts you're gonna need.
The 4 speed boxes are nice with a gas engine, but you'll end up with the same ****ty gear ratios as the C6, so it's not really worth the trouble IMO.
If you want the best result, duplicate the S5-42 or -47 setup using as many factory parts as possible. Second best, IMO, would be a Clark 5-speed. You can buy them for $500 all day long, and most of the hardware used with them is compatible with our trucks. They're mostly set up with a mechanical clutch linkage AFAIK, so if you wanted Ford hardware, you could use the pedals from an early '80's T-18-equipped F-or E-series truck. They shift like a box of rocks, as does the T-18/19, but they'll last forever in a small truck.
I'm not a huge fan of those overdrive boxes if you couldn't tell, but some folks seem to like them. For the love of God, though, don't put one behind the C6. It has no lockup, and you're just making more heat and wasting power by increasing the torque needed to drive the wheels.

While obviously lockup would be better, assuming a factory or near converter, it stalls 800-1200 rpm, once over that point there is no more or less slip at 1500 than there is 3500. Aux od is a boon even in a vehicle with a higher stall converter, you just have to take care that you cruise above the stall speed. ALL OD whether aux or not, auto or not, has higher parasitic loss than direct, and by lower the final gear, gives less torque multiplication from the gears requiring more power to move the vehicle. The trade off is obviously lower engine rpm and increased economy, this doesnt change just because its behind a c6.
All that said, im personally no fan of the aux od boxes, unless its a doug nash behind a manual, even then, preferably one that already has OD

Well I appreciate all of y'all's feed! I've seen pages I'm pages for zf swaps but never heard of a Clark transmission. Are they hard to come by? And I'll also check out the E4od to T19 swap forum as well.
No, millions put in f700/800 trucks, commonly available from truck scrapyards
I was under the impression the clarks were an sae bell housing pattern, so wouldn't I need that adapter? Plus whatever junk for the mechanical clutch on the trans side?
And shift like a box of rocks the t19 does not. I don't touch the clutch unless I'm taking off and it doesn't care, the same can't really be said about the zf5/6 as it's got tighter tolerances

There were different sizes of Clarks, in fact back in the Stone Age when you could special order components I knew of a rancher who had bought a new Ford pickup with a Clark transmission. Most F & C 600 to 800 Ford trucks had Spicer 5 speeds with 2 speed rear ends.
