So I am purchasing a brand new f150 tomorrow. First thing I'm putting on it is a whipple supercharger. I was wondering what are some things I may need to upgrade to run it as safe as possible, Granted yes I know its a risk no matter how you run it. Whats "safe" hp numbers to hit keep in mind this will be my daily. Also what about the transmission or diff are they good? I had people tell me your good at 650 - 700. One guy told me thats the Gen 3 coyote is capable of 900!?!? I dont ever want to be at 900 but any truth to that? Thanks fin advance.
The stage 1 kit claims to make up to 625hp/725tq, on 93 octane, and I believe that comes with an ECU re-calibration for the engine and transmission. Best to contact Whipple to find out the specifics.
Appreciate the reply. I did alot of digging and alot of research. Coming from a performance company and A Ford dealership. A STOCK f150 engine and drivetrain can handle 650 hp easy. Their exact words. Thats pretty dang impressive to me.
Just something to consider....Whipple is a very good component, but, whipple is not known for their tech help for the amatuer engine builder.....and like all roots superchargers, they develop heat as they are run, meaning they loose (slightly) performance where as the belt driven supercharger, they develop less heat by comparison and operate a little better (typically)
