2017 Miles till empty getting less accurate

2017 F250 6.2 37 inch tires, 4 inch lift. Still 3.73 gears. I get about 12-13 MPG consistently city about 15-20 stops everyday working for my business.

My Miles till empty seems like its getting less accurate if I fill up around 20 miles till empty it ONLY takes 25-26 gallons on my 34 gallon tank.

LAST month I went to ZERO miles till empty and then went another 50-60 miles ( yes i had an emergency gas can in the back) After doing that my Miles till empty shot up and was accurate for about a week (filled about 33 gallons) ............

then back to the same CRAZINESS of only letting me get 26 or less gallons in the tank.

Why is the Miles to empty sensor and computer calculations so FICKLE?

Is that “12-13 MPG” read from the computer, or is it hand calculated? With 37” tires, I’d expect the speedo, odo, and fuel economy calculations to all be off.

You can also go into the IP menu and switch the DTE calculation between “normal” (long sample distance) and “towing” (short sample distance).

Lol....with said mods not to mention the 3.73 gears, now you’re concerned about MPG‘s and miles to empty.

Yes hand and computer calculated. I used Forescan and my MPH is dead on. Computer is only about .2 mpg off

Thats with towing DTE calculation selected.

Makes sense haha. Will making that change also affect how often the avg. mpg changes? It seems to take quite a bit of driving before it changes.

IIRC, average MPG is based on last reset.

I have no idea how that thing calculates anything. When I switch from normal to towing my DTE goes up which is crazy. I don’t even use it anymore.

I've never reset yet, 1700 mi. The avg just seems to take quite a few miles before adjusting, it does just takes a bit.
