Miles to empty computer malfunctioning...
hey guys i recently was installing my new jensen tv and after i got everything up and running i noticed that my miles to empty computer feature was reading only 45miles to empty...the wierd thing is that i have about a 1/2 tank left (150 miles roughly) and the last time i shut off my car before this the miles to empty was reading well over 100 (don't remember exactly)...any thoughts???

it stays at the reading if im parked any way....even when im driving the reading doesnt go back...i also know there is something wrong because yesterday it said i had about 45 miles to empty and i drove a lot yesterday, now it says i have like 43...even though i drove well over 15 miles...wierd

Have you reset your average mpg reading? I think that the DTE goes by your average mpg and how many gallons you have left. If your mpg somehow manages to get set real low it's going to think you cant go very far.
