Urgent help kindly requested 2007 Ford E-450 PO611 Error Code

Hi, so I was planning a trip across Canada starting last Friday, and I had everything loaded up, and ready to go. Went to start my 2007 E-450, and it would not start. I just drove it the day before.
For an instant I got a PO611 code, but now I am not. (I'm eating into my vacation) I checked the FICM relay, and voltage on the FICM, and everything checks out. I was going to check the fuse, but the fuse box has no fuse for the PCM Fuel injectors. Where it is supposed to be it is empty.

Does anyone know if there is a hidden fuse somewhere, or where all the ground wires for the FICM are? I want to cross out all possibilities before I drop $900 bucks on a new FICM. (Which I can't buy until tomorrow anyway.)

Urgent help would be GREATLY appreciated.

P0611 is the code for a bad FICM, they fail on either the logic or power side. You can read 48v on the power side with a faulted logic board, or not.

But I can’t tell you where the fuses are with an ‘07 Van.

In my experience, ANY time P0611 sets on any 6.0, (F-Series or E-Series), it's because FICM_M voltage is decreasing to less than 44 volts under some, or many operating conditions. The fact that it has now progressed to where your truck is no-start is pretty well a guarantee that replacement is proper course of action to repair.

If you have a 611 code or recently had a 611 code, you either have a FICM issue or your FICM is voltage modified to above 50 volts.

Key on engine off, do you hear your injectors clattering? What is your FICM main power during this time?

if you hop on FICMRepair.com and type in ‘how to test’ in the search box, it can guide you through things.

If you have good output voltage and no clatter, then the question is whether you have FICM sync. If you do, then your FICM is shot. If it is, I’d be sure to bench test the alternator to ensure it remains good, as bad alternators cause this issue and you certainly don’t want a repeated issue. There is a video on our FICMRepair YouTube channel on how to properly test an alternator.

If you do need an alternetor and/or a FICM, we have them in stock and could overnight one to you - yes, even into Canada.

Hope this helps!

Ed

Thanks. No, the injectors are not clattering. I'll check for sync. (Also my alternators (I have two) are good.) The logic board is getting 12v coming in (black and white wire)

We would need your precise address to advise you of that. If you wanted, you could either PM me your address or just fill out the order process on FICMRepair.com.

Ok, so I did a sync test, and I AM getting sync. I'm also getting a model number for every component EXCEPT the FCIM. I think that may be what I am having to replace. I've got a guy in town says he has one in stock for 1/8 the cost. I'll look into that, and get back to you with address if it doesn't work out.

There are differences in what your money buys between the FICM options. Then there is also FICM tuning, which is nothing short of incredible. Of course, you can always tune whatever FICM (not just one from us, but there are massive differences in the quality of the internals used. Good luck!!
