2001 code reader short help!!!!

hello, for some reason everytime I put a fuse in for my code or data reader It blows out Im not good with modern tech so any help would be greatly appreciated I need tages in a couple days and DEQ wont pass me becasue it wont read anything .

On many Fords the scanner port & the cigarette lighter are wired to the same fuse. Try removing the connector to the lighter & see if the fuse still blows.
