Hello! I recently removed my heater core in my ‘64 f100 because it was leaking. I believe it has the standard heater. I have now decided to clean my floor/firewall and paint with POR15. I also would like to install the firewall cover from LMC and begin installing insulation.
I am having trouble locating any bolts to remove the heater assembly. I can see one bolt on the drivers side, and possibly two nuts behind the battery.
Any advice to help remove the box would be appreciated!
Hey CJ, here's a link to my video where I pulled the box out for a rebuild. There are 3 studs that go through the fire wall and 1 bolt. I point them out in the first 4 minutes if you don't want to watch the whole video. Good luck. ~Pat
I have actually watched many of your videos! I find them to be incredibly informative.
Thanks everyone for the replies! I located the bolts and plan to pull the box soon. I'm in no rush because it will take some time to replace or repair the heater core. Does anyone have a spare laying around? If the shop can't fix mine then I will be in the market for another.

Thanks CJ!!! From what I understand the '64 heater cores are not available anywhere. I put a link to another member who converted a newer core to work in our trucks. It starts about 8-10 post into the thread. I also saw another post converting a newer core but can't find it right now. ~Pat
I replaced the heater core in our 65 from one from NAPA. It leaked worse than the 50 y/o one. It was made in China. Shop around and find one from USA would be my advice unless you like changing it twice.
