We’re at a standstill. Trying to mount the radiator support to the 61 unibody frame. Does anybody have pictures Or on your truck can you describe the order in which the components are used with the mounting kit?
here is the picture supplied. Any ideas as to where the frame is located within this assembly? And the 2 round washers above the square pad ???
thank you Here is the included diagram that came with the Dennis Carpenter Frame Pad kit.
To me the diagram is weird because it doesn’t show the radiator support in the correct place. My experience with DC, this doesn’t surprise me. From top down, the order I would put it together would be:
Bolt head, flat washer, radiator support, cushion, frame, flat washer, lockwasher, nut. The additional flat washers in the diagram are shims to raise or lower your front clip. You can place them under the cushion and on top of the frame as needed. In the diagram, the frame is the black square.
I installed mine a few weeks ago when putting the front end back on, I left the 2 spacer washers out, lined up better with the cab. The rubbers are supposed to "sandwich" the core support, so as to I guess have a smoother/quieter ride. I installed bolt with big washer and rubber on top of core support, black square rubber on frame, and halfed washer with nut underneath. I can try to take pictures if it helps.
Cheers
