Sounds like you may have a bad fan clutch. You should hear it kick in at those temps. My V-10/4.30 combo never got over 208 going up steep grades. Trans would barely crack 200. But I never ran below 55 in the mountains! I would say it may be time for a coolant flush, maybe a new radiator, T-stat and new fan clutch.
as for handling, a Hellwig sway bar made a night and day difference for handling. I had air bags, but rarely put more than 20psi in them. My trailer was 35ft long and 9300lbs loaded for a trip.

youve got some work to do!

Sounds like I should at the very least look for a radiator with the trans cooler in the bottom.

Only issue I can SEE is this missing section at the top of the shroud.

That would be an excellent upgrade!
And while you are in there may as well throw a new fan clutch on it too.

Nope, we had a blow out on the camper on the way up. Just haven’t put them back in place yet.

Arrrghhhh! I HATE HATE HATE cheap Azz Chinesium ST tires! How old was the trailer tire that failed? For the more common midsized trailer tires the Goodyear Endurance ST tire is just about the best available currentlynd they are made in the USA. The Endurance tire's have done well in the real world and are building a very good reputation. I was able to fit larger 16" tires under our heavy TT and went overboard with G rated Sailun S637s that have treated us very well so far.

I have no idea. It was on the camper when we bought it 4 years ago.

I would replace the broken fan shroud first.
Does your radiator not have the trans cooler in the lower tank?
If you do not have the radiator trans cooler you will need some tube port to hose fittings or a set of tubing.

Before coming home, I topped off the water. It was at the MIN level of the jug. She took about a half gallon. Here is the data log from trip home:

You can see the max coolant temp was 222, so she stayed 20 degrees cooler, but still going to have the coolant levels checked, fan clutch inspected, and replace that broken fan shroud.

And throw a new Motorcraft 185* T-stat in it, that 222* is higher than I have ever seen mine, they are pretty cheap. With that 196* idling temp you might have a too high 195* stat in there now.

Back to those trailer tires........The typical cheap Chinesium ST tire is only good for 3 years (if you make it that long!, I didn't) so if you have any more of those from when bought 4 years ago tires left on it expect them to fail on upcoming trips. The Goodyear Endurance ST tires are made in the USA and have really earned an excellent reputation in the 3+ years they have been available, well worth the extra few dollars per tire for the reliability of a better tire. I would also explore maybe going up in load range one step IF your wheels are rated for the increased pressure required.

I agree with the 185 Tstat. I put a 195 in for our colder Montana winters and it did help, but had fluctuating temps while driving at a steady 70mph. Would see anywhere between 190-220F while on flat ground with the cruise control set. Didn't make any sense to me and had several flushes performed in my attempt to bleed the system. Went back to my 185 and its steady all day long. Towing throughout the Continental Divide @ 70mph and I never see trans temps above 180 and engine temps above 205F. Before spending money on a new radiator, fan clutch, etc., I'd try a Motocraft Tstat first. Don't get cheap and buy a non-OEM product.
