Sadly that's very true. I've been pretty lucky on my 94 but both the spare tire and receiver hitch I had issues with seized bolts. On the bright side, they can't be stuck if they're liquid

Same here, when I replaced my bed, I used super duty bed bolts that had allen keyed heads and captured nuts. Lots of anti-seize... still don't want to lift it up just to check voltages on fuel pump.

That's all I ever did in the past and not really take the bed off but remove the bolts on the left side and loosen them a bit on the right. Lift the bed up a little and wedge a 4x4 chunk between the bed and the frame.
