August 2019 all topic

Hello all,

Welcome to the hottest month of the year. Four more weeks of isolation in my man cave, then I can come out of hibernation. LOL

For those of you wishing for the simplicity of a horse and buggy; don't forget that one of the main reasons for the success of the horseless carriage was because of the pollution. The next time you are in a traffic jam surrounded by hundreds (thousands) of cars, imagine in your mind each one of them dropping a "pile" every mile or so...

Red wiggler worms. Toss them in the manure pile. They will compost the waste, multiply, and produce the best fertilizer for your crops. Worms are supposed to be the environmental hero to reduce waste, reduce greenhouse gas, and return healthy soil back to the earth.

Happy Saturday all.
Toyota has a new 5 year (3 year free replacement) battery courtesy of Walmart. What an ordeal. They normally have 5 technicians working on Saturdays, but today, three of them called off. So they had time to test the battery, but said it would be a 3 hour wait to install one. So I just bought one there, and installed it myself. Die Hard batter was supposed to have 660 amps, but only should 66, so I bought a 750 amp battery. Sienna starts right up. Also bought a small tool set so I could install the battery.

What happened when they tested your battery, starter, and alternator? Did they use the hand held device which prints a ticket with the results?

Yes, they used the hand held device, he only tested the battery, not the start, or alternator. Battery works fine, already started the engine three times since installing it, which is two more times than the old battery could muster. According to the ticket, it was a 700 amp battery, not 660, and there was oly 57 amps available. Not enough to start the engine (No kidding!)

Thanks. I am glad it is working. I hate making payments on something I can't use.

Taco Tuesday it is. No need for a grille, just cook them on the sidewalk.

I'm having a low carb, tortilla-less, taco. Steak, avocado, lettuce, tomato, cilantro, red onion, fresh squeeze of lime.......
