I seriously doubt Hump Day is trademarked. And if it is, s what. Humpeth Day is not.
As for the taco eating contest, too much of anything will kill you. Alcohol, tacos, no difference.

Don't know what to say about the female attorney. I have not heard that story yet. However, it doesn't surprise me given all the crazies in the world today.

I'm sure that Fresno is a nice place. Plenty of nice people.

Back to me having a Monday drink in San Francisco, where leather pants are the norm, and nothing is weird.
More a case of me having a lousy day at work trying to do major plastic surgery on a good set of bones (Civil Engineering project). A case of ego that has bitten me in the butt, since it blew my time estimate out the window.

now I’m listening to a Comittee meeting on the phone rather than driving from Redding to Sacramento.

BTW, Do you know the difference between Redding and Bakersfield? ........

Not much, there’s an armpit on each side of a body.

And all this time I though Fresno was the armpit of Kalifornia.

Speaking Fresno, did a quick Google search of that attorney, and found two different attorneys being arrested. One male one female. Two totally different cases. The female as previously mentioned had sex with an young boy although personally I don't consider 14 young, but it started when he was 14 and now he is 18. So I guess when he turned 18 he decided to blow the whistle on her. The other one is a 40 year old male attorney who is charged with lewd acts on a minor, in this case a 5 year old girl. That is young in my opinion. He was re-arrested when it was found out that he had committed lewd acts with a 9 year old girl. Now they are investigating further to see if any other children are involved. He is being held on $380.000 bail. The female posted bond and is free as a bird for the time being. nothing surprises me anymore in the news these days. The question never answered though is why? in these cases they are attorneys. Attorneys make good money. Why risk throwing that away for a few minutes of pleasure? I will never understand...

Nobody ever understands " why". Look at Epstein. He had everything in the world and threw it away.

Jim, I remember a story about kids drinking too much water, and died. Same with drinking too much milk. That taco contest guy may have had a heart attack unrelated to the taco.

So true. I have heard of people drinking too much water. And the taco guy could have had a heart attack, or he could have choked to death on one of those tacos. Haven't read that story. I will sit in my little one bedroom apartment, and play video games until my arms fall off. Or they outlaw electricity for being too dangerous for us law abiding citizens. Government has to protect us from ourselves you know. My question is, who protects us from the government? Getting off topic here, Attorneys molesting or touching in the male's case, underage kids, is just wrong. And to throw away a good career is simply beyond stupid in my book.

That's the kind of thinking that brings about gun control. We need waiting periods, to cool off, so that we can't buy a gun in the heat of the moment. Someone should be screened, before a gun can be bought. Gun owner simply isn't responsible enough to have a magazine capacity beyond what Nancy Pelosi says. Citizens cannot be trusted with certain types of guns based on the way the gun looks. Remember how even certain types of ammunition can be banned, because you just can't be trusted to own it. You're probably too young to remember bayonet lugs on rifles & Black Talon brand ammunition.

When the constitution was framed, the founding fathers wanted to preserve our ability to protect ourselves from government tyranny and oppression. If the British government were able to take away guns from inhabitants of The Colonies, the Revolutionary War may never have happened. Look throughout history at where government disarmed the citizens. If the citizens of Hong Kong have guns, we may be watching a much different occupation of the Hong Kong Airport. I don't need a gun to protect myself from common daily living, crime, or wild animals. I need a gun to protect myself from my government.

I was being sarcastic. Of all the gun control laws out there, I do agree with the background check. However, I don't agree with the 10 day cooling off period. The government is assuming everyone who buys a gun is buying it because they are mad at someone else. What a crock of poop. If Nevada can do a background check in 5 minutes, then so can Kalifornia. I don't agree with the 10 round max magazines either, and they have already called tat law unconstitutional. However Kalifornia got a stay on it. Go figure. I remember Black Talon ammunition, but not the bayonet lugs. It is interesting that Texas is an open carry state, as well as a CCW state, and yet when that mentally ill person walked into Walmart and shot all those people there was not one open carry or CCW person in there carrying.

Don't forget that the creep in Gilroy got his weapon in Nevada. If Nevada laws were similar, that incident may never have happened.

According to opencarry.org:

California is not a traditional open carry state. Open carry is generally prohibited except in unincorporated areas where the county has not made open carry illegal, or, pursuant to a CA open carry permit issued and valid only in a county with a population of less than 200,000 persons.

Actually, there is nothing that specifically says what is legal. Only laws which specifically prohibit what is illegal. You shall not carry a concealed deadly weapon, discharge a firearm in a public place, or brandish a loaded weapon. If your gun is visible, and not loaded, you can carry it. Get yourself a holster, or a sling for your rifle or shotgun. If the police stop you, they may ask to inspect your weapon to be sure that it is not loaded. The police may have other words for you. But many people do carry firearms in the open. So many do it, that some Starbucks have stickers on the door which state that they refuse to serve anyone who carries a firearm. Open carry advocates havegroup gatherings, where they all show up at some coffee shop or restaurant, walk in with guns, and express their constitutional rights.

Jim, I don't want to hear about how you went downtown with your Dirty Harry 44 Magnum, most powerful handgun on earth, and told the cops, "5150 said so".

No 44 magnum? Wow, you sure take all the fun out of it. LOL I am looking to get a Taurus G2C, or if not allowed since it has two more in the mag than Pelosi demands, then a G2s with a paltry 7 in the mag. Just have to buy more mags is all. And I don't plan on carrying until my CCW is approved.
