I am considering buying a 1974 Ford f250 with a 360 and 4wd BUT is missing the transfer case and manual transmission, I'm new to this and I don't know where I can go to find a original transmission and transfer case how to set it up and if i have the right parts any insight?
none of the parts are rare or that hard to find. it could all be found on craigslist in pretty short order around here anyway. then I'd figure on rebuilding it and gathering what ever other missing parts you need.
not an impossible task, but it's going to cost some money. the real question for you is the price reflecting what you have to do to get it on the road.
So 74/F250/4x4/FE your looking at divorced NP205 transfer case, not sure which manual tranny your truck will identify as ... But never the less, its a highboy setup, Three drive-lines worth of fun and enjoyment. You can find the 205's floating around, certainly a lot cheaper if your willing to rebuild it yourself.
