Are you sure about that? The 275/65-20 has a diameter of 34.1". The 245/75-17 has a diameter of 31.5". That would mean the tread depth of the new 20" tire would need to be 1.3" to equal the 17" tire when the 20" tire is fully worn.
Regardless, a 31.5 " diameter spare isn't a good match for 34.1" tires.

It’s not terribly important unless you have a clutch type limited slip axle. With e-lockers (unlocked) or unlocked front hubs the axle really doesn’t care if the tires are an inch or three different diameter. It’ll drive just fine until you get the road tire fixed and reinstalled. If you have a limited slip rear end it would be better to put a mismatched spare on the front axle but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t.
