They give you a smaller steel wheel with a cheaper tire that is the same approximate overall diameter as the 4 that are on the road.... So 5-tire rotations are out of the question, but if you put on the spare, the 4WD differentials won't burn out.
My 2016 is a steel wheel that's the same size as my main 4 wheels are and the tire is a Goodyear Wrangler as opposed to the Hankooks of the main 4. It works identical to the main 4. I just used it to get back home from 250 miles out. Seems pretty much same, same to me. I was surprised it was not a cheap chinese tire when I pulled it out to use.
Its fine, its rated the same as the tires that come on it from the factory just check the pressure on it once in a while and replace it when its 10 years old.
