Well i finaly got the 204.5 finished up and running.
Thanks guys for all the help. I'm about 2 weeks behind schedule on it but other things and the like held me up. Y'all been there.
I put new hpop an aluminum radiator in, cleaned screens on both cooler and ipr. Cleaned motor up nice. Will post pic later. Checked wiring for bare and warn wires. Rewraped entire wiring harness. New oil and trans fluid and filters. Fuel filters where done about 1200 miles ago they're good.
She fired write up. I primed with starter wire about 3 20 second bursts. Fired up let her sit and run about 3 4 min. She missed here and there for about 20 seconds after i backed out the driveway nothing since. Drove her easy let my tcm do its thing. Took her out on interstate, delta's looked good. Most differance in temps was about 7 degrees at 80 85 m.p.h empty. Hpop idles at about 678 680 PSI. All in all i think shell be ok. Thanks again for the great info.
I'd say in area of $1400 with oil and filters and such. Maybe a little more have to add it up. As far as what a shop would charge you can say 10% more on parts and with flush and coolant change. 1500 in labor. Just a guess.
One small piece of advice here: Since having the HPOP system open, you could have some longer cold crank to starts for a period of time while air works itself through the system. To prevent those, while the truck is warm, take it for about 3 medium to hard throttle runs, say from 40 to 70 mph. This gets the air worked out very quickly and your cold starts should be very good. This is a good thing to do after replacing an injector also.
Npc. Good advice. I drove truck to work today (50 miles RT) put my foot in it a few times on the interstate and i was home for about 3 hours and figured i would try starting it up. Now this morning it only took about 5 seconds to start but when i went out a little while ago it started in about 2. Now i know it wasn't bone cold but i think we'll know in the morning. Thanks for advice.
