Thanks Y'all
The wife took it pretty well, the boys love it. They have christened it "The Beast."I just wanted to say thanks to y'all here on the forum for holding the hand of this first time diesel, first time Ford owner. The 1st thing you convinced me of was to buy a ScanGauge II. The good news was, it looks like my oil cooler is ok [for now anyways]. The bad new was the FICM voltage went to heck in a handbasket when the cold weather hit. However the good news was I found out before a) my truck started running like crap b) I damaged one or more injectors c) I got stranded away from home or d) all of the above.
Special thanks to Ed at FICMRepair.com for his great work getting my FICM in and out at light speed. I now have a rock solid 47.5v.
I'll be flushing the coolant in a couple of days [got my fumoto valves & Cat EC-1] and installing a filter [Sinister]. While I'm at it, I'll be installing a new blue spring. I'll also be doing the fuel filters and installing my new drain plug.
I fixed my seat heater a week ago. My break was all the way at the back of the seat pad where the wiring harness connects to the elements. How any of you did that without taking the seat completely out of the truck is beyond me but my hat's off to you!
Harpooning the tank intrigues me but I haven't found the courage to tackle that one yet.

those will all help your truck run for quite some time. are you doing the restore and restore +(vc-9) flush?? just so you know, the restore +(vc-9) can clog up oil coolers due to the rust on the block. i'd pu the filter on asap and give it some time to filter out the casting sand from the system. that can also clog the cooler. if your delta gets worse, just do the oil cooler back flush. one guy had a 45* delta and backflushed it and his new delta was 15* lol.
But, congrats on the truck. if you get a 4in exhaust, the boys will just love the whistle the 6.0 had

Yeah I picked up a gal of both. Its a good thing I got a break on the price of the truck because as a diesel nube, the cost of the coolant, Restore and an oil change sure got my attention!
4" exhaust, Hmmm. I could go broke saving money!
