Under the hood. Driver side . Grey with pink tracer . I just happened to notice the Nick in the wire when checking oil.i had to peel the loom back to see it All. All other wires look ok.
I googled a few diagrams. I couldn't find what grey with pink. Unless its not actually grey..might not have been the correct diagram either unless 04+ used the same harness?
I had my own thing going on today but I briefly looked for you and the closest I found was Grey/red which is a signal return wire from multiple sensors. You might have to peel back the tape some and confirm the colors.
Maybe ill have to check the fuse as well, just to make sure,
Do we know what the solenoid is for?
edit... i was looking at the wrong one... I'm a base model man, The XL has no shift on the fly. floor shift only. I wasn't sure what esof meant until i learned how to read the diagram. That's probably why I didn't notice anything wrong.

It's on the schematic above.
ESOF- Electronic Shift On the Fly a.k.a. 4 wheel drive
The solenoid pulses vacuum for the hubs. That wire powers it, along with a couple other things listed on the schematic.
