That is the 4 way and Turn signal flasher relays. I've seen similar issue if you install cheap junk LED replacement bulbs.

Mine had done it too a few years ago when I switched to LEDs and narrowed it down to the taillight bulbs causing it (If I remember right). I replaced it with a NAPA electronic flasher designed for LED bulbs and it was fine.
Fast forward to this past fall when I did my heads, I hooked the batts back up and it did it again for only a short time. It now hasn't done it again since, 8 or 9 months later. Gremlins I tell yah.
It's coming back to me now. Around the same time I found this. I copied this from the thread 4 years ago.

I verified the LED flasher relay is o.k. I ruled all out and it came back to the turn signal switch assembly.
I replaced it today and all is good now.
Below are some pics of what I found inside the switch. Surprisingly there's just slide contacts inside. I found some corrosion which may have been the cause. More interestingly one of the rubber bumpers were off and laying on the contacts.(See pics I'm pointing @ the rubber bumper's original location and where i found it, with a screw driver) I think this is what caused the grief.
Just thought I'd share.
To add again, I think to diagnose it, while it was clicking I unplugged the multi function (turn signal) switch and it stopped clicking. Once I removed it I took it apart and found that rubber pad holding the contact closed powering the relay.
Man, I almost forgot about that whole experience.
Is it just Ford that has issues with the multi-function switch or do other makes have issues with that silly thing also? I had a 1988 Ranger that would eat them for lunch. That little truck had over 300K miles on it. I think I had put three switches in it.
I had same problem about a year ago.
I pulled radio and center dash and reached up and removed twice to replace the relay. I thought first one i replaced was bad(advance auto) they said you had to take out dash to do. Did it by feel. Turns out it was the multi switch itself. Replaced it and have had no issues since.
Didnt bother me but girlfriend couldn't deal with it.
