Probably not the best idea, but whatever works for you. 2x's the weight rating will eventually create a failure in the hitch welds or mounts.
Probably won't notice it until one day when it matters..... Hopefully you don't have any issues but I wouldn't place any bets on it.
when I had a front hitch and needed to move something heavy, I wrapped a chain around the receiver and terminated each end to a tow hook. it work great.
