Receiver Hitch

Thinking about installing a receiver hitch on my truck. I like the looks of the Draw-Tite 75083 tubular hitch. The price seems reasonable at about $135.00 without shipping at drawtite-hitches.com. Seems to be pretty easy to install, no drilling required(at least for my application).

What receiver hitches have you other Explorer owners liked?

I had a Reese tubular. Pretty easy to install, but if I remember correctly I needed to cut a notch out of a bumper bracket to make it fit.

On my mountaineer I have a DrawTite 75096, a little more expensive than the 75083 but I liked the construction of it more. No good reason mind you... just what I liked.

Real easy to put on as well! That is, once I got the bent bumber (previous owner) out of the way

I like that one, too. It's only about $15.00 more on the website I mentioned above. I agree, it looks like its constructed heavier than the 75083. Both look easy to install. I won't be towing a whole lot, but anything beats using the step bumper!

I have a U-Haul, super cheap installed, bolts right up to the frame, I don't think they did any drilling. BTW, 94 XLT...

I just picked up a u-haul hitch from the junk yard. Sticker says max rating is 6000lb trailer weight. it is pretty beafy. If I ever put that kind of weight on this thing, It would truly be, another "Exploder"

I think I did OK for $40 including the slide in draw bar and 2" ball!

I've seen some cheap hitches on e-bay, too. They've never been used, but they've been stored outside, so they have a slightly "weathered" look to them. I might check those out.
