Hey guys, I have a 93 xlt and I want to put a class III/IV reicever hitch on it. I'd like something that hides as much of the hitch behind the bumper as possble. I've done some looking but very few shoe the hitches on trucks. The one "Hidden Hitch" I saw wasn't hidden at all, it had he whole 2" square bar plus robably 1.5" of air above the cross visible.
Easy of nstall is obviously nice, but I don't mind a little work if I end up with a less visible install.
Opinions/Recomendations? Anyone got pictures of your hitches?
well its going to be sort of hard to find a so called 'hidden' hitch just because the frame is almost as low as the bumper and every hitch mounts to the bottom of the fraame so its going to be visable.unless you messed around with the bumper height or ive seen some hitches that come out of the back of the lisence plate
You want the Reese hitch. I installed one on my 96 last year. I'll have to look through my records to find the part number but it's what your looking for as I had the same concerns when looking for a hitch. After it comes off the frame it goes up behind the bumper and the actual hitch tube is welded to the bottom of the cross piece. If you look at this pic of my rig it shows some of the hitch over the tailpipe.
Edit.... You want Reese class III/IV #36025. Best price I could find on it was at my local Advance Auto parts store.

I'll look for that, Thanks. Seems to be just uner $150, not bad at all.
How hard was the install? I know the frame has various holes drilled in places, does it just bolt on?
