Hi everyone, I'm new here. I recently swapped engines from a 1996 F700 into a 1995 f700 dump. Gas. It ran perfect when I first started it up, but then once I got all the hoses connected it started running poorly and the check engine light went on. I'm wondering if I have to change the wiring harness or the computer. Are there other isues I should know?
I've never owned or worked on a large truck like this but I wanted a dumptruck truck and this one came along with a seized engine and I found another truck with a good engine and figured I could swap them, but being that they're two different years I'm wondering if I may have troubles.
Did you use the 1996 wiring harness under the hood? You should be using the 95 stuff.
hi, I didn't change any of the wiring I only put the engine in from the 96 into the 95. I let it run for a while and it kind of smoothed out and check engine light is gone. I've changed the spark plugs yesterday so it seems like it's doing better. Here it is so far
