2009 Ford F-250, 5.4 liter, wont start at all. Was running fine last week, shut off and now when trying to crank odometer lights go out completely...
this I have checked, load tested battery, replaced positive cable from battery to starter, cleaned battery posts, checked all wires I can visibly see, wiggled gear selector, from park to neutral tried to start does the same thing ... checked fuses, relays click under dash and under hood in fuse box when trying to crank ... any help appreciated
Get your multimeter or test light and see if you are getting power at the terminals on the starter (have someone turn the key while you read). If power is there, starter is bad. If no power, work your way backwards by first looking for damage on the harness.
If your dash lights and other lights go out when cranking you have a bad ground or battery connection. IF you do a search you will see that even if a cable looks ok it isn't. 99% will be at the battery and the cable connections there.
Well if its a ground then its somewhere other than the battery or cables, because I replace the positive cable and cleaned and checked voltage down at the starter and there is power down there so I think it may be as stated above than its the starter
