Flareside - Tail lights

Finally, I have a NOS passengerside unit in hand and I got the only driverside NOS unit coming in that I ordered today.

I think mine were replaced at one time as the side marker lights are illuminated by the 1157 bulb which I never liked as they flashed and got brighter with the brake light unlike the front side marker.

The one I got in hand today it clearly has a T10 wedge bulb for the side marker. I need to crawl and check under my truck hopefully they didn't cut the original connectors off if they were replaced.

Just cant believe its been many years for searching for theses.

Wont be putting them on any time soon though, going to wait till after the truck is painted then will install them.

You know what they say don't you?
No pictures it did not happen LOL

My brother sent me parts of lights so I can see what they should be like but I cant use any of it.
I think just to get my truck on the road, if it ever gets that far, I am going to use them cheap trailer light kit lights as I have 2 sets.
Then I want to get the LED lights LMC has or may check Grote again to see what they have to offer.

BTW nice score on the lights.

Sure heres the photos that were on ebay, I haven't taken photos myself I only took it out to take a look at it then boxed it back up.

Nice, I thought of doing the LED but was concerned it would mess with me NOS flasher that I have installed. I really like these OEM ones. Just glad I was able to get them. the one on Ebay it was $42.99 with free shipping, the left one I ordered today they hung it on me for $130 plus shipping.

You steal 1 and you get stolen from LOL.
Nice looking light.
OE flasher? Who is going to look the deep if OE? LOL
As you can tell I don't worry if the parts are NOS or OE as long as they work.

Same here that's why I thought my tail lights were fine. But now these NOS units are correct so now my side marker lights on the fender and the bed will be illuminated by a steady T10 wedge bulb vs the front being a T10 bulb and the rear has a window cut out for the 1157 bulb.

I got the other one coming in it was the only one in stock brand new Im still awaiting my card being charged I called today to ensure no problem with my card information they said around 5pm is when my card should show a charge, they currently got my light boxed up awaiting shipping.

Now I just need to wait till some NOS front marker lights come up for a reasonable price on ebay that way when I get the truck repainted I can install NOS parts for all I can.

I guess you already know any rear trailer light that is made for "over 80" wide trailers, have the dedicated marker light in the side of the taillights. In case you want to keep your NOS lights in a box and only use them for shows.

Yep I found some by grote that look identical they just have a different style connector.

I thought of picking thoses up for temps as my side reflector windows are glued on as they are trying to seperate.

The NOS ones are for after the truck is restored and will have a garage to be parked in when not being driven.

Hey Rusty,
Are these Ford replacement lights? The original tail lights did not have T10 bulbs for the side markers. The side markers were illuminated by the lower 1157 bulbs. I'm just curious if that was something that Ford added later on at some point?

I just ordered a set of lights from Grote that are identical to the originals (except for the plugs). They were $30 each from a local truck shop. I'm just going to swap over the plugs and the 3/4" grommet from the original lights. Everything else appears to be the same as the originals.

I don't think they are Ford Replacement lights, the part number is the same part number as found in the parts and illustration guide. I haven't gotten the one I bought from Greene, guy I talked with there said it is new in box so once it comes in I will compare it to if its the same as this one or not. I hope its the same with the T10 wedge bulb so I have a matched set. The one I got is E0TZ-13404-B and the one coming from Green Sales is E0TZ-13405-B which is the driver side.

I hope no one swapped this lens out with the correct NOS unit cause I don't mind if it has the T10 bulb long as they both are the same from side to side.

It looks like a T10 bulb is in the side marker light based off what I can see through the smallish window.

Well, for what its worth, the original taillight side markers were still pretty bright, even without the T10 bulbs.

Here's a picture of my truck from last year.

Yep they are bright. I just wasn't too crazy about them lighting up with brake light and turn signals while the front didn't.

But I got the driverside one in from Green, going to have to find another passenger side cause the one I got photoed above is obviously a ford replacement as it has a sticker with the part number while the one from Green has the number raised in the case and doesn't have the T10 wedge bulb. I could use it as is but the one without the T10 bulb has a large window to light to pass and the one with the T10 has a narrow small window that is quite obvious when you look.

I wont be getting rid of the replacement style I got for $40, just will be on the hunt for the passengerside that is not a replacement style unless I can find a driverside like this for $40 then I will put up the correct original style one.
