Oil Burning/Leak

I have a 2003 Expedition with the 2V 5.4. Every 2000 miles it seems to be a quart of oil low. I don't see any blue smoke or any leaks under the truck. Is this common? Thanks in advance.

According to Ford, going through a quart in 1,000 miles is acceptable, so you're okay.

If you're not already, I would try a synthetic 10w-30 or 10w-40 weight oil in it and see how it does.
