Front brakes

I replaced the front disc brake pad, rotors were in real good shape. Now the brake pressure is soft and pedal goes to the floor. I checked no leaks plenty of fluid. Do I need to bleed the brakes or did I miss a step? Thanks for the feed back in advance

I would bleed the brakes. Sounds like there may be air in the system.

I do it by myself so I just use the "gravity" method. Start at the right rear and move to the left rear, front right then front left.

Sounds to me you got the disc brake pads in the wrong location. The one pad with the humps on it has to be in a certain place.if you don"t have them in the right location the brakes will not work correctly. Trust me I did it and was lucky i caught myself.

There is an inside and outside pad, the inside pad that goes on the brake caliper has to little ears on it.

And after you make sure the pads on on correct do a couple of 55-10 MPH panics stops without stopping to warm them up and then drive a couple miles to cool them off.

Get some speedbleeders. Makes fluid bleeding a one man job. I have them on all my vehicles.

If the pedal wasn't spongy before the brake job then it's likely the pad location.

Well guys,,, I think i may have got my brakes fixed.. haven't road tested it yet.
But i made one mistake.. when you buy a new brake booster... your supposed to adjust the pushrod on the booster. Well my ******* didn't.
I got it adjusted ( been too busy earlier with work and bad weather, or getting too dark so early ) today... the brakes are much better. the rear wheels stop much faster now.
I'll road test it later on this week and report back..
The only thing left that i haven't changed yet was the equalizer valve , Which is made of Unobtanium.. I'm thinking if it needs replaced, i'd have to try and find after market.. Anyone have a link ?
I don't think i'll need it, but a link would be nice, just incase.
