E-Brake Handle Refurbish

The plastic/metal handle of the E-brake fell off recently from my '64.
The pin (2819) fell out and is now missing.
The handle itself is cracked and missing a small piece on the underside near where the pin is located.

I found this older thread mostly cautioning not to take the handle off and indicating the pin and handle are NLA.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-handle-2.html

Now that I know the pin and handle are NLA, I'll look more thoroughly for the pin.

How can the missing area of the plastic handle material be replaced? Epoxy?

If I can not find the original pin and since they are NLA, one thought is to thread the 5/16" diameter hole in the shaft and enlarging the hole in the metal/plastic portion of the handle to allow an Allen head to hold the handle on.
Another thought is to put a roll pin into the shaft sticking out a little to hold the handle on. It would not be a tight fight to the handle though as the hole in the handle is larger than the through hole in the shaft.

I'll post a picture of the handle this evening when I get home from work.
There is a spline on the pin that fits into the handle and extends partially into the shaft.

Thoughts or other ideas please.

The original pin was, I believe, just a straight pin with the knurlings like this picture? The MPC says it was 5/32" diameter, not 5/16", and I am fairly sure that's correct.

C0DZ-2819-A - PIN - PARKING BRAKE HANDLE LOCKING - 5/32" O.D. - 13/32" - 1 each

However, I'll show this replacement handle since it had a pin that was a bit different than the original style, at least as far as I've seen. I think your idea of the Allen screw sounds like a decent one.

C1TZ-2760-A - HANDLE ASSY. - PARKING BRAKE RELEASE - Includes C0DZ-2819-A pin - 1 each

You can see how this replacement pin had a head on it, not just straight. Might hold a handle in cases where some of the plastic around the hole was missing? Anyway, I thought it might be worth a peek?

Yup. 5/32" not 5/16". Bad memory on my part from measuring last night. Interesting that there is a taper on the replacement pin.
I'll take a closer look at the hole tonight to see if the spline marks go through the hole or only a short ways in.

I've thought about taking the shaft to a machine shop to have the shaft threaded and use a shifter handle. It wouldn't be stock but shouldn't break or bend after that.

Here are some not-quite in focus shots of the shaft and handle. There are spline marks on the handle and only partially into the hole in the shaft.

Here is the area that needs to have some material added. Note the serrated edges of the hole for the pin.

The spline marks go only a little way into the hole in the shaft.
