Anyone have experience with a "Spring" problem on an ENGINE VALVE ? My FORD Dealership in Clearwater has had my F150 for 2 weeks and still does not like the fix so they are gonna keep working on it. It's the 2nd one in a week brought to the dealership according to the Service Manager.
Intake or Exhaust Valve did the keepers let go or is the Spring Weak do you have a Valve tic your Intro is very Vague please tell us more!!!Tampa Bay all the Way
There is a PINGING noise when accelerating. I should know more by early next. Good dealership. , Seasoned service manager want's to replace parts again and go from there.
I'm sure not gonna be very confident in it until I haul a trailer upstate NY and back without any troubles.
Are you talking about pre-ignition or a valve spring? If you are getting pre-detonation, you might have a bad (low octane) batch of gas, or possibly a faulty detonation detector.

There is no such thing as "pre-detonation". It's either pre-ignition or detonation, and they are not the same thing.
My first 2018 5.0L pinged under some conditions. I think it was a knock sensor. The replacement engine, a 2019 I presume, does the same thing. It’s not valve springs.
Knock sensors may be the incorrect term, but us old farts called it that for years.
Funny you mention that about a replacement engine. That's what the Service Manager said would possibly be the fix.
I'm old so replacing the engine seems like a MAJOR deal.
I'll update all when they update me with the first fix.
Not a major deal. One day. Plug and play. Mine was replaced due to oil consumption, not noise. Unless you meet certain criteria, you’ll not be seeing a new engine anytime soon. I waited 10 months and 28,000 miles before the TSB was issued.
