I just got my engine up and running again, and I started hearing a ticking noise, I just figured it was a stuck lifter, so I drove it to school, and began to find out what was wrong, I noticed that the rocker arm for the exhaust valve, on the #6 cylinder, was not in contact with the top of the valve, it was resting on the edge of the valve spring, so I diagnosed my ticking problem, well, I then noticed that the rocker arm had been banging against the retainer that is on top of the valve spring, that holds the valve in place, so I was just seconds away from dropping a valve, I then noticed that the pushrod for the intake valve on that same cylinder was bent very badly, what is the problem with this?
Another Question, What does the keeper/retainer look like that is on the top of the valve spring, the one I looked at at the parts store, was a two piece keeper, that was cone shaped, and kept the valve in the valve spring, is this the correct part?
