My 96 crew has developed a P0261 code, cylinder 1 circuit low. A little back ground. My son installed Baby Swamps with a Hydra with swamps tunes, which are about 2 years old, with maybe 10000 miles on them. One of my grandsons was driving it the other day, and he called and said it started missing, and blowing smoke. I forgot to ask on the color of the smoke. He got it home and parked it, until I got time to put the code reader on it. I did a buzz test, and they all sounded the same, but set the P0261 code. The outside harness looks good, but haven't pulled the valve cover to check the under cover harness. My question is, if it isn't the UVCH, is it more likely to be the injector or just the solenoid? My gut is leaning towards an injector tip.
Sounds like what happened to me Tom a few years ago. No IDM code, buzz test good and the IDM was the last thing replaced. Fired right up with my spare IDM.
Yep, it passed the buzz test, so he swapped #3 and #1 Injectors, the #3 he put in the first hole was working, but no oil from the spouts in the 3,5 7 holes. Swapped in a spare ODM, and all was good.
