I was having some shuddering/missing problems at high rpms and thought it was a loose injector. When I opened up the driver side valve cover, I noticed the quarter was missing from the UV harness. I think the quarter fell out somehow and is now in the head. Do you think this could be causing the missing problems with my motor? The missing/bucking only happens at higher rpms in my higher fuel programs. I did have some loose injectors and tightened those but after about 100 miles the intermittent problem started back up.
Just like the zip ties that come on the UVCH and fall off, the quarter is probably riding in the bottom of your oil pan if you cannot find it under the cover.
I don't believe your problems are from the quarter.
What kind of tuner are you running?
You said "higher fuel programs" can you give us an example?
What other fuel/engine related mods do you have that might clue us in on something?

I am trying to pinpoint a reoccurring issue with bucking. I had a bucking problem with older injectors. I sent those in to get tested and Swamps said they were not good. I purchased new injectors and within 50-100 miles had the same bucking. I opened up the valve covers and the injectors were loose. I retorqued them and now 50-100 miles same issue. When I initially installed the new injectors, I noticed the quarter was missing. Not sure if this is creating the problem?? I will check the injector torque once again but this is getting old. Problem is very intermittent, but only happens under hard acceleration sometimes.
I just inspected the passenger side and all injectors were tight. However, the 50 cent mod does not seem to hold as the clip was slightly pushed out. Any tips on how to get the harness clip to hold without sliding out?
My injectors usually started working loose within 200-300 miles. Hot torquing solved most of them, but I had a couple of injectors that needed the loc-tite on the hold-down-bolt treatment.
There are sizable holes that lead down to the lifters - I've had an inspection camera down there.
I don't think the connection pictured is loose enough to cause any issues. Do you have any burnt pins in the connector? I'm also not sure how the quarter, or any other shim would come out once the valve cover is on unless the clip itself is broken or the quarter / shim is trimmed too small and can drop out the side or bottom.
As for your missing problem. Is it at high rpm's or is it only under a load? Can you make it shudder in neutral sitting in the driveway? If it's only under load, can you check fuel pressure under load?

I did not see any burnt pins. As for the miss, it happens mostly under load during a hard acceleration (3/4 throttle without making it downshift) from say 50 mph to 70. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. I can do full throttle from a stop to 70mph and it generally won't do it. But 30% of the time when I do a hard acceleration from say 50 -70ish it will miss. It is very inconsistent.
Fuel pressure holds steady at 60 psi. The motor runs like a champ otherwise, will not miss at idle or normal driving. I will hook up AE this weekend and see if anything has changed since the last time I monitored everything.
Just making sure, the constant 60psi you mentioned, that's post fuel filter off the plug by the drain valve right? Not pre filter on the easily accessible plug?

I dont have a fuel bowl and the pressure is being read off the regulator.
