I have asked that question on several forums and the answer ranges all over the place. I have sourced original cables, there are 4 and asked Bob Selzam about the 52 ground strap placement. So on our truck: one from cab to bellhousing, it’s kinda short. One from negative battery to solenoid. One from solenoid to starter. And one from battery ground to lower coil bracket bolt.
Our ground strap is not 100% original, it’s an autolite strap the proper length to reach the coil bracket.
Here is the cab to block strap. It uses one of the bellhousing bolts and a 5/16-24 bolt coming through the cab. You should have a cutout for the cab bolt just up from the passenger side transmission cover.
Thanks JB,I looked on my truck and that ground is long gone. The only ground I have is from battery to coil mounting bracket bolt.I guess my battery is really turned around backwards?
