Where does the driver side battery connect to if its not conne ted to the passenger side battery terminal. The previous owner had them ran a different way and can't figure it out .
driver side negative goes to the block. driver side positive runs along the radiator support and connects to the passenger side battery positive post connector, then down to the starter.
Both negs. go to a seperate ground (eng. block). The pos.'s have to be conected to each other then to load (parellel circuit). This doubles the amps but keeps the voltage at 12.
I have one ground to block other on trans bolt to block is this sufficient enough and now have the batteries connected to each other . Thanks for the help
It should be fine. I think the correct place is on the front left and right lower sides. Not sure how you ended up with enough length to go to the back.
They were custom 2/0 made cablesby previous owner .The positive fro the driver side was connected different to is wasn't in the battery terminal and it threw me off when I started hooking all the electrical back to the motor . Thanks for the help again guys never fails to ask a question no matter how stupid it may seem and somebody will point you in the right direction
Well, it's an important question to be asked when dealing with dual batteries. If you hook up two batteries in parallel, which is POS to POS and NEG to ground, then you get double amps and keep the volts the same. If you hook up in series, which is POS to NEG, then you get double volts and keep the amps. So not a "stupid" question in my book. Just one that takes a little understanding of how batteries can work.
