8 on top, coil over spark plug
8 under the exhaust manifolds. follow the spark plug wires.
and DO NOT go the cheap spark plug route..

How hard is it to replace the plugs under the manifold? Can't even see them from the top.

I just changed mine. They all came out easily and threaded back in easy. The ones on top are easy to access. If you have wheel well liners remove them. It makes getting to the bottom plugs a lot easier. Took me about 2 hours to complete the job. It’s simple!

What mileage did you change them at and did you notice any difference?

I changed mine at 47k miles. Plugs really weren’t in horrible shape. Top plugs were the worse gap wise but not too bad. No difference in gas mileage or acceleration with the new plugs.

Same with my plugs, 35k miles on mine. 2k hours on them. Top plugs were in worse shape then the bottoms. I changed the top and bottoms to Motocraft Double Platinum. Wheel well liners removed to get the lower plugs

Has anyone used the E3 plugs yet, and if so, what was your experience?

So . . . . are the bottom plugs a different plug than the top plugs?

As far as I can tell, there is only one "type" of plug spec'd by Ford...the Motorcraft SP-526.
